Choose the right interior page dimensions
Decide whether the interior needs bleed before choosing page dimensions and export settings.

What this issue means
Use bleed when artwork reaches a cut edge; use no bleed when every printed element stays inside trim. Mixing the two concepts creates incorrect page size or incomplete edge coverage.
What BookPreflight checks
- Which pages contain edge-to-edge artwork
- Trim, bleed and safe-area boundaries
- Consistency between book setting and exported PDF
How to correct the source file
- 1
Choose bleed based on the actual page design.
- 2
Extend backgrounds beyond trim but keep text within the safe area.
- 3
Export and verify affected edges page by page.
Verify the exported PDF, not the preset name
Keep the editable source and original PDF. Export a new file, run the complete scan again and review every remaining finding. A repair is only labelled safe after loss checks and a full deterministic post-flight.
