Compare the submitted cover page with the expected size derived from the book specification.

What this issue means
Even a correct trim preset produces the wrong cover if page count, paper or bleed changed. The result keeps expected and actual dimensions in points and display units.
What BookPreflight checks
- Final page count and selected paper
- Full cover MediaBox width and height
- Spine and bleed contributions to total width
How to correct the source file
- 1
Generate a fresh cover template after the interior is final.

Place artwork on one continuous page at exact template size.

Do not scale the exported PDF in a print dialog.
Verify the exported PDF, not the preset name
Keep the editable source and original PDF. Export a new file, run the complete scan again and review every remaining finding. A repair is only labelled safe after loss checks and a full deterministic post-flight.
